Recently, Google announced the latest updates on its popular Android Platform.
The Android Gingerbread 2.3 presents more improvements from the previous version as well as addition of new attracting features.

Sophisticated Text Input Functionality
There is an added feature of word suggestion from the dictionary as the user types in. Also, when a user selects text, a list of suggestions will come out making this feature effective for typo free composition. The selection can also be replaced by switching to voice mode.

The keyboard soft keys had been redesigned such that they are aligned in positions best for users typing even at high text input speed.

Improved Performance
The simplicity of the new interface adds to improvement in overall speed as well as making it easy for users easily learn the interface and navigate the device.

With new app management feature, the Android system takes care of currently opened apps and effectively manages the resources allotted on them (close inactive if possible) thus adding effectiveness in the overall performance and consumes less power consumption for longer battery life.

Internet Calling
The Android Gingerbread allows new way of calling through the internet. SIP account is needed though. Users can also assign the SIP address of their contacts and can easily access them through the Quick Contact.

Camera Flexibility
The Android Gingerbread now allows use of multiple camera on a device.
